🖥️ Microsoft Needs To Do This NOW!

Hi All,

I started the week with a random thought and if you think about it, it actually makes sense, especially in this day and age - but we'll get to that a little later.

First, I wanted to mention that Microsoft Windows has always been an operating system I associate work and corporate life with. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that most companies I ever worked for used Windows of some variation.

According to research, Microsoft Windows also happens to be the most widely used computer operating system in the world!

You're probably wondering why I am mentioning all this, the reason is simple, we live in a world of ecosystems and it doesn't matter whether you're on team Apple or team Android.

If we take the Apple ecosystem as an example, it is well-built and the devices communicate well with each other, which makes them more convenient and useful to us.

Ecosystems also work great for work and keeping us productive and that's where the random thought comes in...

Microsoft NEED'S to release a new Windows Phone!

If Microsoft builds a new system that works well with their apps and the desktop version of the operating system, it will have a huge audience of users that may potentially convert just because the phone connects well with Windows.

It's as simple as that!

I know that Windows Phone wasn't very popular due to app availability, but that can now easily be changed! I mean the Microsoft Store on Windows 11 allows us to download the Amazon App Store which allows us to run Android apps on Windows. So theoretically, if Microsoft decide to release a new version of Windows Mobile, it could potentially run Android apps.

I was a huge fan of Windows Phone back in the day and I had quite a few of their models. I remember loving the Tile interface as well as the animations. They just made sense and provided me with a lot of essential information.

I strongly believe that Microsoft needs to resume this project, I mean they have huge potential to build a new ecosystem to rival Apple, especially in the corporate world.

Put it this way, even Microsoft's chairman and CEO; Satya Nadella acknowledged that the company made a big mistake in exiting the smartphone market! You can read more about this here.

I agree with that as I remember it as a very stable platform which not only worked well but also felt good to use.

On top of that, many organisations use Microsoft 365, so having native Windows Apps such as your standard office apps and maybe apps like Intune Company Portal and Teams built-in to the platform will work great.

Overall, I seriously believe that Microsoft has huge potential to build a great ecosystem that consists of Windows Phone and the desktop version of the operating system. I mean Microsoft has gone a long way since the days of Windows Phone and if we combine that with the way other brands are making their products work together, I think Windows Phone will fit in nicely.

I also think that we seriously need a new player in terms of mobile operating systems. Both Android and iOS have gone a long way over the last couple of years, I would argue that they have gotten so good over the years that they are starting to get boring. This could be a great time to have a new player on the market!

By Dom Kwolczak Hi Reader, As a tech reviewer, I review tech from all sorts of big and small brands. Some of these brands are very popular and some are less known, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. That’s why, based on my experience with buying and getting items sent from less—known brands, I decided to share the things which I think you should know before buying… Price vs. Value In many cases, we choose to go with lesser-known brands because they offer considerably cheaper products...

By Dom Kwolczak Roll into action and give this fantastic app a whirl! Hi All, Hope you're all doing well! This has been a bit of a strange week mainly because of how fast the weather changed. The week started with it being around 12 to 14°C and then halfway through the week it dropped to below 5°C! I remember Thursday morning being pretty warm but then when I left the office it was so cold! That has of course spoiled my plans for recording content for my channel as I didn't think to take...

By Dom Kwolczak I Want To Try Something New! Hi All, This has been another incredibly busy week, both for Tech With Dom as well as my day job. When working a full-time job and doing something on the side such as running a side hustle or learning a new skill, things can quickly become very busy and you have to know how to plan your time properly. I tend to plan my week during the weekend using a to-do list as well as a calendar app, but I've lately been watching many productivity videos and I...
